We are beyond excited to launch our 2020 Photo Challenge with our very first outdoor advertising campaign which launched today across Brisbane and the Gold Coast.  Like so many other organisations Queensland Community Foundation has had to adapt to the new Covid-19 world we inhabit and as we can’t gather in person to celebrate our state’s philanthropy we have decided to take philanthropy to the streets!

The photo challenge, sponsored for the third year running by Northern Trust, is an invitation to all Queenslanders to celebrate kindness in a photograph.  You need not have a fancy camera, nor be a professional photographer or instagrammer with thousands of followers to enter as our goal is to see kindness through your lens, however and wherever you see it.  The photo may be a portrait of someone who deserves recognition for their great work or it might be a project that was delivered by volunteers to help somebody in need.  It can be as creative or conceptual as you wish and you can enter as many times as you like.

Simply post your picture on social media tagging us (@queenslandcommunityfoundation) and using the hashtags #focusonkindness and #qcfphotochallenge2020, or enter it here. You could win $2,000 for your favourite cause and also $500 prize money for your efforts!

We are proud to feature The Twin Mum Photography’s image “Ethan Smiles” (Runner up in 2019) as our poster image this year – the joy and kindness evident in the shot are dazzling and we hope will inspire you to show us how kindness looks to you.

Thank you to our Philanthropy Awards sponsors who have enabled us to honour our community’s philanthropists digitally when we can’t come together physically to celebrate them at our Philanthropist of the Year Awards which was scheduled for June 19 : QIC, The Public Trustee, QUT, he Wagner Family and Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport and Channel 7.
