It’s fair to say that Covid-19 put a serious spanner in the planning of this year’s QCF Photo Challenge and Philanthropy Awards, as it did for so many events this year.  Traditionally we run our photo competition through April but in consultation with our long standing sponsor of the challenge, Northern Trust, we decided to take a collective deep breath and see if we could manage it a little later this year.

We are delighted to announce that with restrictions easing, we are now in a position to launch the QCF 2020 Photo Challenge with entries opening on June 1! Covid-19 and the bushfires at the beginning of the year have had such a profound impact on so many Queenslanders that we felt that this year we should shift the emphasis of the competition to ‘acts of kindness’ which we feel reflects the  intentions of so many in 2020.

The photo competition is open to anyone, amateur or professional, who can capture ‘kindness’ on camera.  It could be a portrait of someone you feels embodies kindness; it might be an activity that is driven by kindness or it can be an abstract idea that invokes kindness to you – the stage is yours!  You can enter by posting your picture on Facebook or Instagram and using the hashtags #qcfphotochallenge2020 #focusonkindness.  Tag us @QueenslandCommunityFoundation to make sure we see your creation and you will be in the running to win a $2,000 donation to the charity of your choice AND $500 prize money for yourself courtesy of the good people at Northern Trust.  If you are not on social media you can also submit your entry here.  Good luck and start snapping!
