What does giving and/or kindness look like through your lens?
The Queensland Community Photo Challenge is the perfect way for photographers, instagrammers, community groups and non-profit organisations to tell their stories and share their work.
The goal is to capture an act of giving, kindness, doing good or to highlight a specific cause or issue affecting Queenslanders.
Thanks to our sponsor RACQ, the winning entry will receive a $3,000 donation for the charity of their choice and a $1,000 prize for the photographer!
The Queensland Community Photo Challenge is proud to promote philanthropy and giving in our community.
Entries can be realistic or conceptual, specific or broad, taken by anyone young or old. Even organisations can enter the challenge too!
The goal of the challenge is to capture an act of giving, kindness, doing good, or to highlight a specific cause or issue affecting Queenslanders.

Entries open 14 February 2026 and close 13 March 2026.
Entry is simple; take a photo and submit your entry here. Multiple entries will be accepted. The photo challenge is open to professional and amateur photographers.

Terms and conditions of the 2026 Queensland Community Foundation Photo Challenge
- 1. By entering the Queensland Community Foundation Photo Challenge (Challenge), you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of the Challenge. The terms and conditions governing the Challenge include:a) these terms and conditions;b) the Entrant’s application form; andc) any directions relating to the Challenge advised by Queensland Community Foundation from time to time or otherwise published on Queensland Community Foundation website.2. Queensland Community Foundation may refuse to award any prize to the Entrant who fails to comply these terms and conditions.3. The Challenge is open to Queensland residents and/or organisations operating in Queensland.4. Where the Entrant is under the age of 18:a) you must have the consent of your parent/guardian to enter; and
b) your parent/guardian must read the completed entry form, and agree to the terms and conditions and sign the form, for your entry to be valid.
5. Copyright
a) The Entrant will retain copyright in their photograph.
b) The Entrant grants Queensland Community Foundation a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use photograph images to promote Queensland Community Foundation, including (without limitation) in both digital and print form to be featured on the Queensland Community Foundation website and through social media and publications. This licence includes the right to reproduce, publish, display, crop, resize or format the image for promotional purposes. Queensland Community Foundation will credit the photograph source where possible.
c) To the extent permitted by law, each Entrant consents to Queensland Community Foundation doing any act or omission that may otherwise infringe the Entrant’s moral rights under the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth).
d. Queensland Community Foundation respects the privacy of entrants and will endeavour to prevent non-authorised reproduction of the image but does not warrant that unauthorised reproduction will not occur and is not liable for any such reproduction.
6. Images submitted are to be a minimum of 2.0MB at 300DPI and in JPEG format.
7. A pre-selection process will take place from the entries to produce a shortlist for digital display.
8. Entrants whose photographs are selected as finalists for digital display will be notified in May 2026.
9. Submissions must be comprised of a photo, a short-written statement of a maximum of 500 words, and the photographer’s full name, contact details plus a title and short description of the location, context and date (month/year) the photo was taken. Queensland Community Foundation will not provide any Personal Information to a third party for any purpose not already stated in this privacy policy or terms and conditions without your consent. Queensland Community Foundation will take reasonable security measures to protect your personal information from loss, unauthorised access, use, modification, disclosure, or other misuse. Personal Information that will be collected, stored and used in accordance with the Queensland Community Foundation’ Privacy Policy which can be found at https://qcf.org.au/giving/disclaimer-and-privacy -policy/.
10. Queensland Community Foundation reserves the right to reject any submission based on quality, content or theme. All submissions will be reviewed for accuracy of information. Written statements may be edited for clarity. Accepted photos will be posted on the Queensland Community Foundation website.
11. Entry is online.
12. Judging will take place in April 2026. All decisions of the judges are final and are not subject to review. The winning entry will be announced on Monday, 1 June 2026.
13. The nominated charity must be a registered Queensland charity, with DGR 1 status. Queensland Community Foundation reserves the final decision to award the prize money to the chosen charity.
14. By submitting a photo in the challenge, you agree to have read and understood the above terms and conditions. Submission of entries in this competition automatically constitutes the Entrant’s acceptance of all competition rules and authorisation from the subject.
15. By submitting an entry, the Entrant warrants that:
a) the photograph is the Entrant’s original work;
b) the Entrant is the sole copyright owner of the photograph or the Entrant has obtained relevant permissions;
c) they have obtained the express consent of all identifiable individuals appearing in the photograph (or in the case of minors, consent from a parent or legal guardian);
d) the photograph does not infringe any third-party rights, including copyright, privacy or moral rights; and
e) the photograph is not defamatory, misleading, offensive or unlawful.
16. The Entrant accepts responsibility for gaining permission to enter and publish photos of any identifiable people featuring in the photograph. Queensland Community Foundation accepts no liability for Entrants that have not been given permission to enter and publish photos of people featuring in the entered photograph. The Entrant agrees to indemnify Queensland Community Foundation against any loss or damage resulting from any breach of the warranties above and acknowledge that Queensland Community Foundation may, in its discretion, not award the prize money to the Entrant for breach of the warranties set out in this agreement.
17. Entries must be received by 13 March 2026 at midnight. Late or lost entries will not be considered.
18. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. The parties submits to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.
