The QCF SME Philanthropist of the Year Award recognises a small business with less than 200 employees whose grass-roots level of charitable support has impacted the local community. The successful nominee will have an established record of philanthropic support in regional Queensland, a business with a holistic approach to philanthropy. Their actions will have had a measurable charitable impact.

WCR offers many types of philanthropic support. Driven through the CEO, Penny remains a proud advocate for the service and domestic violence prevention through the work of WLSQ. This includes WCR being a drop off location for donated goods collection for WLSQ, participating in an Advisory Board for keynote event Dancing CEOs, which in 2020 has so far raised over $135,000.
WCR is a conscious organisation of multiple hospitality business’ (Wolff  College of Coffee, Big Bad Wolff Espresso Bar, Dandelion and Driftwood, Queen of Pops), WCR partners with Oz Harvest to donate excess food goods and all student roasted coffee beans from their
College. These bags of quality, speciality roasted coffee and food supplies are then distributed to organisations. Furthermore, many of WCR events, the funds raised are donated directly to a charity nominated by the team, such as 2019 Qld Aeropress Championships donated to Happy Tails.
