Simon Lockyer

The QCF 2020 Philanthropy Innovation Award recognises an outstanding Queensland individual, family or family foundation with a proven record of exceptional innovation within the philanthropy sector. The selection is not necessarily based on the size of the financial aspect but on the social and long term impact that the philanthropist will have in the real world.

Simon Lockyer, nominated by Greater Outcomes

Simon Lockyer is co-founder of:

• Youngcare, a dedicated charity providing living solutions for young people with severe disabilities, and offering an alternative to aged care;
• Everyday Hero, a comprehensive digital platform enabling charities to fund raise;
• Five Good Friends, innovative technology connecting people in need of care.

Simon also served on the board of directors of the Edmund Rice Foundation (2014 – 2018) governing an amazing organisation raising vital funds for projects in developing countries. Also serving on the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Queensland’s board of directors, Simon is involved with the strategy, planning direction and advocacy of the SME sector across all of Queensland.

Simon is a successful entrepreneur whose ventures have achieved significant outcomes across all aspects of social and environmental impact. He has given of his time and has made significant personal investments. Simon generously offers his advice, insights, experiences and networks to other aspiring social entrepreneurs and has positively impacted the lives of hundreds of thousands of individuals in
Queensland with his boundless energy, incredible vision and desire to create models that generate sustainable and scalable outcomes.
