We are now faced with the extremely difficult task of selecting a final shortlist and winner. To assist us with this huge undertaking we turned to our sponsors who were delighted to support us once again in this challenge.
Simon Gaites is a Senior Vice President at Northern Trust and Chair of the Strategic Philanthropic team in APAC. Simon returns to this very important role for the third year running although this year will have the added twist of judging remotely from lockdown in Melbourne.
Sharyn Ghidella has long been one of Australia’s most respected and popular Channel 7 News anchors, after graduating from the Queensland University of Technology, majoring in journalism and public relations. Sharyn currently sits on the Board of the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital Foundation and is also an Ambassador for the Allison Baden-Clay Foundation.
Michelle Kearney is the Head of Investment Operations at QIC. Michelle has over 20 years of industry experience with a particular focus on Fixed Interest and Derivatives. Michelle has recently recovered from a rare cancer called Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma and witnessed much kindness during this period giving her great insight into this challenge. She is passionately interested in supporting charities with those related to cancer particularly close to her heart.
Margo Powell a qualified fundraising professional with over 20 years experience in the non-profit sector, Margo comes with an impressive background in fundraising across the arts, health and medical research and higher education. As Executive Director, Advancement at QUT, she leads a large team that supports philanthropic and alumni engagement activity that align with the university’s education, research and community initiatives.
Judging will take place on August 10th with the finalists and winner announced on September 7 at Parliament House – stay tuned on our social media for updates!
