The Queensland Community Foundation regional grants program aims to support eligible charitable organisations providing services in the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba and Darling Downs region and Northern Queensland. Charities and causes supported may fit within, but are not limited to community wellbeing, health, arts and culture, animal welfare, children and youth, education, environment, medical research, indigenous and religion. Please check individual regional grant guidelines for grant criteria.
Applications for grants in one of Queensland Community Foundation’s four regional areas are now closed. Organisations are invited to check their eligibility and apply for organisational capacity through the General Fund Grants once the new grant round opens later this year.

Eligibility

- Applications are open to only those charitable organisations that have Deductible Gift Recipient Item 1 (DGR1) status from the Australian Taxation Office. To confirm your DGR 1 status, enter your ABN at this link:
Organisations must be Queensland based, with all grant funds going to help Queenslanders in the region of application in need of general welfare support.
Background
Queensland Community Foundation has an annual regional grant making program which currently takes in the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba and Northern Queensland regions.
Funding for this program is made available from the relevant regional sub-funds and QCF’s General Fund.
Applications from charitable organisations providing local service delivery in areas such as aged care, family support, children, health and welfare, youth and arts and which have the following characteristics are favoured:
- One-off projects for a specific purpose
- Demonstrate sustainability beyond the funding period
- Strengthen the community
- Reduce social disadvantage
- Help find solutions to community problems
- Benefit as many people as possible
Queensland Community Foundation prefers to fund whole projects rather than making a small contribution to a large project. Part funding will be considered where applicants can demonstrate access to co-funding.
Areas impacted in each Regional Fund
- No grant will be considered retrospectively, i.e. projects must not commence prior to the anticipated notification date.
- On completion of the project, organisations must provide an acquittal including an expenditure statement and demonstrate the value/impact of the grant. Failure to return the accountability documents is recorded and may jeopardise future funding opportunities.
- Applicants will receive written notification of the outcome via email by May 2026
