Queensland Community Foundation by Queensland Community Foundation is proud to announce its biggest-ever grants round, with more than $7.2 million set to be distributed to Queensland charities and community organisations in the 2025/26 financial year.
This record investment marks a major milestone for the Foundation and a significant step forward for the many Queenslanders whose lives are changed through local charities and community initiatives each year.
Applications are now open for two key programs – the General Fund (Organisational Capacity Building) and Regional Grants – both designed to help charities grow stronger from within, build resilience, and continue the vital work they do in their communities every day.
“Now more than ever, Queensland charities need sustained financial support to meet growing demand in their communities,” said Tara Castle, CEO of Queensland Community Foundation. “In 2026, we’ll distribute more funding than ever before in our history, and we want to see applications from right across the state.”
Founded in 1997 by former Queensland Premier the Honourable Mike Ahern AO with just $300,000, Queensland Community Foundation has grown into a $158 million charitable trust dedicated to helping Queensland charities, forever. To date, the Foundation has distributed $49.7 million to organisations working tirelessly to reduce disadvantage, strengthen communities, and create opportunities for all Queenslanders.
Every donation made to Queensland Community Foundation is an enduring gift. Funds are invested in perpetuity, generating income that continues to support Queensland charities long into the future. With operating costs covered by founding sponsors QIC and Anglo American, 100% of the income earned goes directly to community causes across the state.
